I graduated!

I graduated today (not from CMU) from high school at 2:58 am. This day is not only special because I graduated from Barrington High School, but also that in exactly two days I will be on CMU's campus. But now more about my graduation. Though the rain had stopped about two hours before my graduation and the day outside was cool and perfect for pictures, my graduation was still held inside. However, I still enjoyed the service today and see 235 of my peers graduate. In the end my graduation turned out be perfect (especially the last part when a student stripped to his boxers upon receiving his diploma), and I could not have asked for anything else.

Now I am on my way to Boston and have to go.

P.S. This is the first post in this blog from an iPhone.

The Last Lecture

I finally saw Carnegie Mellon University's Dr. Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture" last night. I heard about Dr. Pausch and his last lecture last year (that was delivered on September 18, 2007), even before I applied to Carnegie Mellon University and wanted to see it since a lot of publicity was involved around it. Last night I finally got the time to sit down and see it. His lecture divided into his childhood dreams, enabling others' dreams, and lessons learned from all of this was touching and motivational. In less than 90 minutes, Dr. Pausch brought out the ways to live and lead your life. His lecture was moving and I am glad that I am going to a place like CMU where great professors like Dr. Pausch teach. Hopefully I will also get a chance to meet him and maybe enroll in the pioneering course, Building Virtual Worlds, he started there.

Now Dr. Pausch has turned his last lecture into the New York Times #1 bestseller, The Last Lecture. I am getting the book from the library and will soon post a review on it. Also, Dr. Pausch recently gave a lecture on Time Management at University of Virginia in November 2007 and a surprised appearance at CMU's 2008 Commencement ceremony, which I will soon watch and post about it.
